The roadkill data is visualized in D3.js and has been updated to include the latest data. Everyone is welcome to compare and see the changes among the major road-killed species this year and the previous year.
How to use this data:
- This chart shows the statistics for the previous day.
- Each circle represents a species. Move the mouse to any circle, click the left mouse button on the circle, the selected circle will be highlighted and jump to the side, then a small square will appear, and there will be text in the square showing the species represented by the circle with its name, total number of records, the current year’s and previous year's data, and the difference in the amount of data in the last two years.
- The color of the circle represents the proportion of the population difference in the last two years. The redder the color, the greater the increase in the number of roadkill deaths for this species (such as the Spectacled toad (Duttaphrynus melanostictus 黑眶蟾蜍)). The greener the color, the greater the decrease in the number of roadkill deaths for this species this year (such as the Red apple crab (Metasesarma aubryi 奧氏後相手蟹)).
- The histogram on the upper left shows the "monthly change" of all the data regarding the species in the database, which is convenient for seeing whether the roadkill deaths of a certain species have obvious seasonality. For example, Great green snake( Cyclophiops major 青蛇) roadkill deaths are mainly concentrated from May to October, with June as the peak.
- The map on the lower left shows the main places where the species is currently recorded in the database (it can be zoomed in and out).
